We bought this home about a year and a half ago and I still can’t believe we own our own place. It was full of carpet and dark wood cabinets with orange painted walls and needed quite a bit of updating to put it mildly. We were driving up to the house every day for about a month painting the entire house ourselves and ripping out the carpet and demoing the kitchen. We tried to do as much work as we possibly could to help and keep costs down which definitely paid off in the end but the work was no joke.
